EGA Discussion Group 6 years, 2 months agoDoes anyone know what type of frame this is? I have googled brooch embroidery/needlepoint frame and I find people selling a finished product like the picture or plain wooden frames. I’m at a loss on what else this frame could be called or where to buy them.

Hi Jessica – it looks like a brooch blank that has been filled with petit-point. Probably stitched in a small count silk gauze. Mary Corbet has articles on stitching on silk gauze. Hello glove-makers! I know many of you might be waiting until the cooler weather is closer before you begin making your gloves. After the vinyl is folder for awhile, use a warm hairdryer to flatten it before making the placement guide. I hope to see some gloves posted at any time during appliqué or construction.

When I visited the Woodlawn Embroidery Exhibit at a historic home in Virginia I re-discovered the EGA. I was active in my previous home in the 1990s but my career got in the way. Here is a colored drawing of the project I am working on. The triad color scheme I previously sent is part of this project. the material is a tie dyed blue/white combination that looks like clouds. Would appreciate ant feedback on this project.
