Patriotic Ornament by Ann Strite-Kurz
Ann originally designed a series of lanterns adapted from a quilt pattern, then converted the lanterns to ornaments. When asked to donate a project to EGA’s National Outreach Program, Ann chose the ornament that had heart shapes in it, and stitched it again in the patriotic colors. Featuring Ann’s signature composite stitches, this ornament is stitched on 18-count canvas using a variety of fibers and metallics.
Gratitude by Cara Hayes
Featuring three stars as seen on George Washington’s coat of arms and used on the Purple Heart military decoration, olive branches symbolize Peace, and hearts show devotion. Reproduce Cara’s lovely ornament using floss and Accentuate on Congress Cloth.
Crazy for America by Sara Zander
Created for all levels of embroiderers, this little sample of crazy quilting honors our service members, past and present, with special gratitude to those wounded while defending our country. It may be mounted in a hoop to be hung or displayed on an easel, or it may be incorporated into a larger piece of fabric or quilt.
About Projects Supporting Wounded Service Members:
Every three years when a new EGA president is appointed, the incoming president has the privilege of appointing a charity to support. President Janet Noble has selected America’s wounded service members as her designated National Outreach Project. Multiple sets of designs are planned for release throughout her term.
