Description

You will work on one crazy quilt block throughout the course. This block is not an end in itself, but is intended to get you started in making many more blocks after the course is finished, which can then be assembled into a quilt.

This is a notebook course. You will be adding to the pages of the text with your own design ideas for your block-in-progress and your future crazy quilting projects. The notebook will become your own personal reference that you can add to at any time. A final paper is required, in which you will assess your progress and express your thoughts on aspects of crazy quilting that you might like to explore in the future.

Lesson 1. Text covers history of crazy quilting, patching methods, color scheme, fabrics and fiber types, threads and embroidery. Assemble fabrics and a color scheme. Research antique crazy quilts and take notes on them for your notebook.

Lesson 5. Learn about methods of embellishment including ribbonworked and silk ribbon florals to work on a patched block. Add ideas for embellishment methods and designs to your notebook. Work embellishments on your block.
