Description

Our online class, “Ahwahnee,” is teacher Lorene Salt’s interpretation of the large stained-glass windows in the Great Room of the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park. A colour palette of Burgundy and Blue was used, but students are encouraged to pick their own colour palettes.

“Ahwahnee” is a sampler of layered stitches, intricate borders, and string art stitches designed to have you thinking outside the box. Stitches include 8-point Star, Double Fan, Sprats Head, Crescent Wave, Waffles, various kinds of Jessicas, and two-colour Chilly Hollow. The piece is further embellished with pearls.

This class will appeal to those students who would like to try new
techniques while challenging themselves by mastering complex canvaswork stitches.
