Schools have been closed by the Governor for the past two weeks and will be closed for another four weeks. I had been putting in small bits of time working on a jacket formed by Cathedral window blocks and putting embroidery into the ‘windows’ before stitching them into place. I created the pattern for the jacket which will be bound and closed with frogs. I have enjoyed the opportunity to put in some extended time into working on the jacket and finished the sleeves on Friday. I placed the colors for the front and back and will start on those ‘windows’ this afternoon. The sleeves featured fine embroidery, predominantly using no. 12 perle cotton. The front and back will feature silk ribbon embroidery, beading and perle cotton. Outings have been limited to minimal grocery shopping, working in the yard, and watching the events as they unfold with regard to the virus. Scary and heartrending.
