12” square of linen (28 count Zweigart) or any low-thread-count fabric that allows easy passage of an embroidery needle. Other suggestions, used drapes or tablecloths, or old clothing as an upcycling methodology – such as light colored used drapes made of 75% Rayon and 25% Acetate. Make sure the cloth is loose weave, and not polyester, silk, or too thin.

Technology: have computer access, printer to print image onto iron-on-transfer paper, and iron with ironing board to affix image onto fabric.
