A Schoolgirl Exemplar Workbox
with Jackie du Plessis

Extended Study Program

Our focus will be on textiles and Southern schoolgirl samplers. We will tour the textile holdings of The Charleston Museum, and work with Historic Textiles Curator Jan Hiester. What you simply can’t miss is four days with Jackie du Plessis, renowned for her exquisite sampler-inspired projects. This lovely silken stitched schoolgirl workbox will hold three tiny samplers showcasing pulled work, drawn thread work, hem stitching and Hardanger work. Early American band samplers inspire the four samplers, each one inch high. The front and back of the workbox (3½˝ x 5½˝) showcase a stitched, stylized floral design with an area to personalize the piece. You can learn more about Jackie on her website www.itsfineallyfinished.com.
